What infinite positioning actually means
On a standard lift recliner, the back and the footrest move together in fixed stages. On an infinite-position chair, the back and the legs move independently — so you can put your feet up above your heart while keeping the back nearly upright, or lie almost flat for a nap.
That independence is why infinite-position chairs are the ones people actually sleep in. If swelling in the legs is part of your day, or if getting into bed is difficult and the recliner is where you rest, this feature is worth the step up. If the chair is mainly for watching TV and standing up more easily, the LC-150 does that job well for far less.
Heat is on both VivaLift chairs
Worth being clear about, because the names suggest otherwise: the Radiance and the Premier both carry three heating pads, in the shoulders, lumbar, and seat. The Radiance was the first chair in its class to offer three zones, and that is still its headline feature at its price. But you are not giving up heat by stepping up to the Premier.
Heat is genuinely useful for stiff joints, lower back ache, and cold feet — and having it in three zones means you are not choosing between warming your back or your legs.
What the Premier adds
The Premier's case is everything layered on top of the heat. An air-bladder massage system with three intensity settings works the lower back. VivaLift Tilt raises your knees above your heart for a near-weightless feel. Power adjustment reaches parts of the chair that are fixed on most recliners — headrest, lumbar, and a full-width power backrest — so you adjust the chair to your body rather than choosing a chair whose shape happens to fit.
It also has an integrated Bluetooth audio system with speakers in the chair and controls in the arm, plus a wireless phone charger and hidden storage. And it includes a lithium battery backup, which returns the chair to the upright standing position during a power outage. If you rely on the lift function to get out of the chair safely, that is not a luxury feature.
Sizing matters more than features

Medicare Part B may cover the lift mechanism portion of a qualifying seat-lift chair when a doctor documents medical necessity — not the chair itself, and not the fabric, heat, or massage features.
